Paul followed generations of his family into baking. Traditionally trained as a Master Baker both in the UK and France, Paul honed his skills in the family business. Keen to develop his expertise with a more scientific understanding, Paul achieved a BSc in Food Science and transferred his valuable combination, of craft baking and food science, into the UK bakery market.
While managing large industrial bakeries, Paul advanced his experience and worked with leading brands, manufacturers and retailers to launch successful baked products. Joining Carrs Foods just after the millennium, Paul progressed to dealing with international suppliers and retail partners to launch bread, morning goods and cake ranges.
In 2004 he jointly led an MBO to take the business into private ownership and became a senior partner, and later contributed to securing the UK license for the ‘Paul Hollywood’ brand. Paul continues to deliver innovative baked products that delight consumers worldwide. A strategic thinker who has mastered his art, Paul’s motto is “There is always a way”.
